States and Union Territories Capitals in India: India is a federal secular and Democratic Republic country. India has a parliamentary system of government. The president is the constitutional head of India. India gets 7th position in the world in respect of size. It also holds the second position in respect of population in the world.

How many States are there in India?

Andhra Pradesh is to the South East of India. It is the Seventh largest state by area and the Tenth most populous state in India. Visakhapatnam(administrative), Amaravati (legislative ), and Kurnool (judicial ) is the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Chhattisgarh a state is in East Central India. This state was a part of its neighboring state Madhya Pradesh earlier. It is the 9th largest state in India and 17th most populated state in the country.  Nava Raipur is the capital of Chhattisgarh. Horticulture and animal husbandry  have  a major role in the state. The main crops are rice maize and other small millets and pulses oilseed such as groundnut, soybean and some Flowers also grown here. The state has the rich forest resources include wood . The state is also rich in minerals .

Kerala’s fauna are not able for their diversity and high rates endemism.  Union territory is a type of administrative division in the Republic of India. Union territories are governed in part or in whole by the central Government of India. At present India has 8 union territories. In August 2019 the parliament of India passed 2 new union territories on in Jammu and Kashmir and the other is Ladakh and that was granted on 31st October 2019. On the other hand, Dadra Nagar Haveli and daman and Diu  was turned into a single union territory to be known as Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu in November 2019.
